Is it possible to look objectively at ourselves and ask: Why have we become the target of International Terrorist Organizations? Are they the evil anarchists while we are the preservers of Civilization --- Evil vs Good as current US Foreign Policy will have us believe. Not at all. Then why? Let us offer some conjecture.
The Constitutional Democracy of the United States, which we now try to establish throughout the world, is based upon private property rights, a market economy, and the accumulation of wealth. These are the tools that our society uses through which individual and national ambitions for freedom and happiness may be reached. Could all this be illusionary and productive of neither, and, in fact, destructive of both when pursued in contradiction to community interests and achieved on the miseries or credulities of others. Can we look at our own enormous wealth and see, at the same time, our own decadence; the untrammeled pursuit of individual wealth and luxury that has been destructive of both community and individual interests as evidenced by a decaying system of Public Education, Public Health Care, and, in fact, the decay of the very health of our Citizens ---- all related to the centrifugal focus of our Society.
Every aspect of our society/economy, from our Food Supply to Housing, has been transformed into commodities which are massed produced, marketed and sold, in the main, by multi-national Corporations whose raison d'etre is Profit: Food is "processed" so as to maximize "market value" at the expense of nutritional value; and, Property values are manipulated so as to require a period of "indentured servitude" to the economic system in order to "own" property; creating zones, as well, of "Affortable Public Housing" within inner Cities. We have become totally dependent upon an Economy that supplies our every need....and like Native Americans:
Is this the picture of American Society and "freedom" that we project? Dependency, Selfishness and the destruction of Individual and Community health and well-being.
Is it possible, as well, that we have obliterated the clear distinction that our Constitution makes between the mix of Religion and Government: forgetting the wisdom of this separation and the polarizing, destructive influences of competing Religious influences within Government? In fact we have!! Our unstinting support for the creation and maintenance of a Jewish Theocracy in the Middle East has established as the basis of our foreign policy claims within the Old Testament --- claims NOT recognized by other Religious groups, particularly Moslems. Are we, as a consequence, viewed as enemies to the interests of the Moslem Community?
The Old Testament and Jewish beliefs have become the underpinning for this countries Foreign Policy. Regarding his view of Jewish beliefs, Thomas Jefferson wrote:
George Bush II is no Christian or disciple of Christ. He is a Zionist Jew!!!. His orchestration for the invasion of Iraq and the execution of Saddam Hussein, in pursuance of his Jewish Policy, will have consequences far beyond those that this country experienced on September 11, 2001.
We need to take a hard look within Ourselves, our Society, and the policies of our Government. Do we bare any responsibility for what has become a Third World War --- "Terrorism vs Civilization"; what is, in fact, a Religious War --- and Why? Let us ask again: Do we bare any responsibility?
